Getting things done… in the tank
“getting things done” is a classic productivity book. I read it. I must say the concept of having somewhere to dump all your ideas before sorting them and acting is a great thing — get it out of your head and into your organizing system.
There are 2 “problems” with the GTD approach:
- it is bottom-up: you will probably end up getting things done for other people instead of accomplishing your top-down goals.
- without a morning floatation session, you really have not dumped out your brain of what you need to do. When you float in the morning, your mind runs over what needs to get done for that day (if you dont fall asleep again because you really had not relaxed on the conventional bed) and all sorts of things to do pop up.
