thoracic complex dissolves

Four about 4 days, I had discomfort in my neck and a brick like tension in my upper shoulder blades (mainly the left).

I’m glad to say that I have dissolved that.

Now it is revealing yet another level of ‘body armor’ — this time the shoulders feel like I am wearing shoulder pads.

It’s interesting how my return to the tank has been primarily physical.

One interesting experience when I slept overnight in the tank (I could hear my heartbeat pounding as if I were actually down in the heart chambers!).

physical unwindings reveal as psychophysical unwindings

Physical unwindings are quite pleasurable because the distance between the observer-operator and the unwinding is easy to notice.

However, as the underlying psychophysical source (repressed emotion) begins to surface, these tensions are more painful to resolve, because the observer-operator does not want to make the distinction between what it SEES and what IT IS.

As a result, these chaotic emanations and their associated tension seem to be locked in place. The release of these makes the observer-operator more alone. More empty.

To be continued?

hatha yoga is nice, thai massage is better…

but until you let go of your own baseline of resting tension, you are wasting time and money.

just a few minutes in the tank will reveal to you what you are holding onto — physically at first.

then the physical unwindings occur automatically.

pretty soon ,the subconscious floats free and clear as well.

but I’m only at the physical unwinding level for now.

topsy turvy dimension blender

So I’m in the tank, and I become super relaxed – the head and legs let go. Normally these areas are tensed for self-defense. I completely let go of them, in a sense saying that I want relaxation more than saving this body.

So of course, the second I do so, various tensions grab my attention. It starts with being 100% certain that I am being electrocuted in the tank. And so I make some efforts to get out, but I cannot move my head or arms. Then reason kicks in and says: “if you were really electrocuted, you would be dead by now”

So I manage to get out of the tank and start upstairs, but before I know it, I’m “drowning” in the tank – but then I realize – “even though I dont know which way is up, at least my mouth is getting water”

And I become aware of Patricia and her father.

Then I see a little Mexican boy and ask him how to get out. and he says: “I dont understand it” and raises a latch. Then, there is a huge black fencework that needs to be raised.

late night float

My man Clay came over at 9:30 to start his float. He’s going to midnight on his late night float… best time to float if you ask me.

fibromyalgia success story!

From a float center in panama:

I've been diagnosed with PMR, Polymyalgia Rheumatica, an inflammatory
disorder of the muscles that is thought to be the result of an immune
disorder.
Symptoms I've experienced are severe bodywide aching and stiffness of
my muscles, extreme fatigue to the point of being bedridden for
several days at a time, and when out of bed, a feeling of weakness. I
just didn't ever feel well for the past two years.
In addition to the PMR, I have arthritis, as well as, injuries to my
neck and back from years of being an admitting psychologist in a state
mental hospital.
Prednisone is the drug of choice for this condition but the side
effects are almost worse than the pain. No amount of Prednisone
helped my symptoms.
Had my wife not booked us both appointments at Driftaway Panama as a
birthday present to both of us, I would not have made the effort to
travel from Coronado to Panama City.
After my first 1 hour session in floatation, I felt 95% relief of pain
symptoms in my muscles and joints. Three days after that, the pain
started to return, so I returned on the fourth day for another
floatation. I have gone as long as 2 weeks between floatations
without the return of the original pain.
Another change after floatation was the feeling of well being,
probably from the natural endorphins that have been studied and found
to increase with REST.

the wake-sleep interplay

I got up to float this morning. Before I knew it, my mind was aware of a completely different place. I was nude and outside, but wanted to hide my body. I began to float high in the air, looking for something to cover myself with. I found a dirty towel — several of them in fact. I passed on them. I finally found a warm blue blanket.

I put it on.

As I did so, I was on the ground and it was pitch black. The walls were closing.

No way out.

I began to be sucked backwards by a power. Every once in awhile I felt a sphere between my feet (the sieve in the tank with me).

Interesting how the mind can see a total inner reality and yet weave outer reality with it as well.

Oleg climbed into the tank around 7pm a few days ago and 3.5 hours later, came out a happy man. We watched a bit of “Teenagers from Space” and chewed the fat about the local spiritual goings ons…
